Check your flight for freeHow Airline Compensation Works
Under EU261 and UK261 regulations, airlines are legally required to pay compensation when a flight is delayed by 3+ hours, cancelled at short notice, or causes a missed connection — as long as the disruption was within the airline's control.
Compensation amounts are fixed by law and based on flight distance, not ticket price. The same rules apply regardless of which airline you flew with.
| Flight Distance | Compensation |
|---|---|
| Up to 1,500 km | €250 / £220 |
| 1,500 – 3,500 km | €400 / £350 |
| Over 3,500 km (4+ h delay) | €600 / £520 |
These amounts are per passenger. Children and infants with a reserved seat are also entitled to the same compensation.
